Let’s discuss how to review and refine your funnel so it brings in more clients, fills your chairs, and sustainably grows your salon.

First, What Exactly Is a Funnel?

In salon speak? A funnel is simply the journey your potential client takes—from discovering your salon, to booking their first appointment, to becoming a loyal regular.

It could look like this:

  • They find you on Instagram.

  • They grab your free “Hair Color Maintenance Guide.”

  • They get a few follow-up emails.

  • They book a consultation.

  • They become your new favorite regular.

But if that funnel isn’t working... if people are ghosting you after the freebie... or not booking after the emails... It’s time to take a closer look.

Step 1: Check Your First Impression

Where are people finding you? Instagram? Google? A referral?

Now check this:
Is your link-in-bio or website guiding them clearly to your
next step, like a freebie, a booking link, or a consultation form?

A strong funnel begins with a clear and irresistible offer. Think:

  • A downloadable “Frizz-Free Summer Hair Guide”

  • A quick “What’s Your Ideal Hair Color?” quiz

  • A “First Time Guest” promo

Make sure your entry point is simple, eye-catching, and solves a problem your ideal client actually cares about.

Step 2: Nurture with Value (Not Spam)

Once they’re in your funnel, are you staying in touch?

You don’t need a 10-email sequence with fancy automations. But you do need to build trust and stay top of mind.

Try sending a short series like:

  • Pro tips for healthier hair between visits

  • A behind-the-scenes peek at your favorite products

  • A success story or transformation from a recent client

Your emails (or texts) should feel personal and helpful, not salesy. When people trust you, they book with you.

Step 3: Make Booking a No-Brainer

You’d be shocked how many salon funnels fail at this stage. Someone’s ready to book... but the link is broken. Or it takes five clicks to find the pricing. Or they’re unsure about which service to choose.
